Shanhai Story’ first version does not require an account. The learning tools are designed to process text in your browser whenever possible.
Saved vocabulary
Words you save are stored in your browser on your current device. Shanhai Story does not receive that list, and it will not automatically appear on another device. Clearing browser storage may remove it.
Text tools
Text pasted into the HSK level checker, character counter, and text annotator is processed locally in your browser. It is not submitted to a Shanhai Story account or stored in a Shanhai Story content database.
Hosting data
Like most websites, the hosting provider may process basic technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser information, requested page, and time of access.
